South Africa’s pre-eminent public sector ICT knowledge-sharing and learning event will build on last year’s exploration of ‘Connected Government’, but places the spotlight on the collaborative use of ICT in the delivery of citizen-centric services.

The event, attended by Sita delegates, government officials, as well as business people from the private sector, is about establishing more flexible and collaborative workplaces; implementing collaborative solutions to reduce costs and improve productivity; and encouraging greater exploitation of mobile working technologies and collaboration tools.

Key focus areas at GovTech 2012 will include collaboration strategies and collaborative solutions, which will facilitate the integration of service delivery channels and help government deliver more joined-up public services at a lower cost. There will be an emphasis on open government to ensure the sharing and access to government information and to encourage online access to government where possible.

Service will cover the Govech conference daily here on this website. Watch this space!
